Your generosity to
Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC)
can change lives for years to come.
ECMC
has faithfully served the populace of Ellsworth
County
since the early nineteen
hundreds and has always benefited from the generosity of its
constituents. Former
gifts have included large donations such as the land for hospital and
the CT
Wing as well as smaller gifts for the purchase of lobby furniture and
medical
supplies. All gifts
large and small are
extremely valuable to the patients served through ECMC.
There are many
different ways to give to ECMC while at the
same time contributing to your own personal and financial goals. Be assured that your gifts
are fully
deductible for federal income tax purposes.
(The maximum annual deduction is limited to fifty
percent of the donor’s
adjusted gross income.) Your
gift to Ellsworth
County Medical
Center
can also be designated to benefit a project of your choosing, a
scholarship or
equipment purchase.
Outright gifts to ECMC such as cash,
securities,
stock, etc. may lower your tax liability and allow the medical center
to put
your contributions to work immediately.
These gifts can be restricted or unrestricted.
-
Annual
or year-end gifts – many people make once-a-year charitable
donations, often at
the end of the year.
-
Gifts
“In Memory Of” can be made to remember a relative,
friend or loved one. Some
people choose to donate at the time of
death or annually on the anniversary of the loved one’s
birthday or other
significant date.
-
Gifts
“In Honor Of” can be made on any occasion to honor
anyone you choose.
Deferred gifts will someday benefit the
medical
center and can substantially lower income and estate taxes. Anything you leave to
charity, in your will,
will reduce the size of your taxable estate while at the same time
making a
significant difference to healthcare in Ellsworth
County.
-
Living
Trust – a revocable gift made during your lifetime.
-
Bequest
in Will – a deferred gift made after your lifetime is over.
-
Life
Insurance Gifts, Retirement Plan Gifts, or Real Estate Gifts are all
ways in
which contributions can be made.
-
Charitable
Gift Annuity – involves entering into a contract with ECMC in
which ECMC will
receive fixed payments annually.
Endowment gifts are an investment in
the
future. By
investing a donor’s gift and
disallowing spending of the principal, the initial investment continues
to earn
interest forever. For
many, the idea of
a gift that, “Keeps on giving,” is just the type of
gift they would like to
make.
